Woodfordia’s Elders
The Elders are the primary repositories of knowledge and custodians of Woodfordia. These six protectors of the local area hold overall responsibility for the land, the water and the creatures in their domain. The Elders offer sanctuary and wisdom to all and welcome you to enjoy the beauty and mystery of their world.
Originally built for and featured in the 2015 Woodford Folk Festival’s closing ceremony ‘Fire Event’, the Elders were created by Daniele on location with the help of artists and Festival volunteers over six weeks, including rehearsal and performances.
The Elders project is now entering its second stage of development. The project will continue to create Elders throughout the year through a community development program for a special event at Woodford Folk Festival 2016-17.
